Mission of Mercy Serves Nearly 1,000 Patients;
Provides Nearly $1 Million in Care

The 2016 MDA Foundation Michigan Mission of Mercy served 968 patients and provided nearly $1 million worth of dental care, to disadvantaged individuals — another example of dentistry’s commitment to access-to-care. The MOM took place June 10th and 11th 2016 on the campus of Macomb Community College in Warren.

“Member dentists, dental team members, and other volunteers worked their hearts out to help hundreds of people get access to dental services,” said MDA CEO/Executive Director Karen Burgess.

“In addition to the care provided on site, we were successful in sending our message that Mission of Mercy Michigan Macomb College 2016dental health is important and that the dental community is committed to access for all,” Burgess said.Working at Mission to Mercy was quiet an experience for our staff. There were doctors, hygienists, dental assistants, and volunteers from all over Michigan (even some from Ohio & Indiana too!) all coming together to help those in need.Dr. Mansour took his family and Rebekah from the office who used to be a dental assistant and from time to time will assist Dr. Mansour at our office.

For this event Rebekah had chosen to assist and was paired with Dr. Mansour. It was a great experience for her to work with so many patients again, they were very fortunate and grateful.

We are looking forward to volunteering again next year. It was amazing to see what it took to put it all together, it was truly a community coming together!
