Stress is often an inescapable part of so many of our lives. And we know that tense muscles and headaches can be attributed to stress, as well as more serious conditions such as high blood pressure and heart disease. But did you know stress can also have an adverse effect on your teeth?

It can lead to Temporomandibular Disorders (TMJ) as well as wear down teeth, weakening them. To help ease teeth grinding, it may be recommended that you were a night guard during sleep to prevent this unconscious habit.

Don’t Forget to Clean

With stressful thoughts occupying your mind, it may be easy to forego the simple daily steps you need to follow to maintain your basic dental health. Always take time to brush, floss and rinse to help reduce your risk of bacteria aiding in plaque build-up and cavities.
