It’s that time of year again, the season when we look forward to spending time with family and friends and enjoying all of the joy this holiday season brings with it.  In the spirit of sharing that feeling with others, we are once again taking part in the Toys for Tots program.

Toys for Tots was founded in 1947 by reservist Major Bill Hendricks of the United States Marine Corps Reserve (USMCR).  He was inspired by his wife Diane when she tried to donate a homemade doll to a needy child but couldn’t find any organization to do so. Upon her suggestion, he pulled together a group of local Marine reservists and coordinated the collection of roughly 5,000 toys for area children in collection bins at movie theaters. Due to its success, the program became a national initiative just that next year and has been going strong ever since.

If you’d like to support Toys for Tots this holiday season, bring a new, unwrapped toy to our office and drop it off in our collection box before Friday, December 9th at 12 p.m.

We’re excited to announce that everyone who makes a donation(s) will receive one (1) entry in our Detroit Pistons Ticket Giveaway!  The lucky winner will receive two (2) tickets and one (1) parking pass to see the Detroit Pistons take on the Charlotte Hornets on Thursday, January 5th at 7:30 p.m.
